Heaven is an Acson ducted split system
ACSON air conditioning equipment has been installed at the top London nightclub Heaven. Acson ACC 60 (16 kW) and Acson ADB 250 (63kW) ducted split systems have been fitted throughout the venue at Charing Cross. The installation also features Acson 14kW cassettes, Acson 16kW ceiling suspended and the very useful Acson 8.5kW wall mountable systems.

The installers were Ryan Air Conditioning Systems of south-east London. The distributors were Cooling and Heating Sales of Brentwood and Cannock.

Heaven can accommodate up to 1625 people in seven dance floor and bar areas, so keeping late night revellers cool is an important job. Occupying a cathedral-like arch soaring to 35 feet, the main dance area has featured performances from Madonna, Grace Jones, Cher, Cyndi Lauper, Boy George and the The Pet Shop Boys.

The nightclub is situated near a residential area and the quietness of the condensing units was a major factor for Ryan Air Conditioning Systems. Managing director of Ryan Air Conditioning Systems, Ray Voice, said: “The lack of noise with the condensers was so important, people live close to the nightclub. I was also impressed by the ability to handle long pipe runs, the price and the superb technical back-up from distributors, Cooling and Heating Sales, and Acson.”

The Acson ACC 60CR and the Acson ADB 250 units have Copeland scroll compressors within the condensing unit, providing outstanding reliability and pipe run options. There is auto restart, which in a power failure will automatically restart at the last setting when the power resumes, a double protection drain system and a hard-wired controller provided as standard.

The single splits in this heat pump-based system run on R407C. “We are also installing Acson ACK 50AR (14kW) cassette and ACC 60CR (16kW) ducted split systems in the London-based Coliseum and Renaissance nightclubs,” added Mr Voice. “The Acson equipment is ideally suited to this type of installation.”
